Protecting our lifestyle and environment

Our Q2 Green ambition is to protect our unique lifestyle and environment and the wealth of natural riches that support our relaxed lifestyle.

Our climate, rainforests, beaches, oceans, National Parks, rivers, reefs and stunning outback must all be protected for the future. We are continuing to transform Queensland into a clean, green state by cutting our carbon footprint and investing in solar-powered energy generation. We are also planning for the future by increasing national park estates and maintaining green corridors in urban areas.

Achieving our targets

We measure our progress toward two clear targets for Queensland:

• Cut Queenslanders' carbon footprint by one-third through reduced car and electricity use.
• Protect 50 per cent more land for nature conservation and public recreation.
