Supporting safe and caring communities

Our Q2 Fair ambition is to build a fair Queensland where people are free to realise their full potential regardless of who they are, where they live or the challenges they face.

All Queenslanders play a key role in building the strength and resilience of our communities. Participating in activities such as volunteering for a community organisation, helping out neighbours after a storm, or being a carer for someone who needs ongoing support helps to ensure that the community is actively looking after its members and helping out people in need.

Achieving our targets

We measure our progress toward two clear targets for Queensland:

• Halve the proportion of Queensland children living in a household without a working parent.
• Increase by 50 per cent the proportion of Queenslanders involved in their communities as volunteers.
