    My mission

Since I took on the job of Premier in September 2007, my government has worked hard to protect Queensland’s lifestyle and prosperity.

Despite the pressures of the Global Financial Crisis, we have continued to invest in Queensland while growing our economy and easing cost of living pressures on households.

Right across the state, we are building new hospitals and rebuilding others. We are working to clear elective surgery waiting lists and encouraging people to take steps to prevent illness.

We are building new kindergartens and delivering more places, upgrading older schools and building new ones, investing in literacy and moving Year 7 into high school.

We are protecting the quality of life of our regional centres with careful planning.

We are introducing some of the toughest regulations to strike the right balance between mining development and the environment, as well as safeguarding our best agricultural land and

And we’re tackling major challenges from urban traffic congestion to environmental sustainability.

My priority is and always has been Queensland and its people. Together, the government is determined to make our great state even better.

I am proud of my government’s achievements over the last four years and look forward to continuing to service Queenslanders.
